14 November 2025 —A group of Boracay hotels has officially become the first retail-aggregated hotel group in the Philippines following a ceremonial signing event with EvoEnergi as their Retail Electricity Supplier partner.
EvoEnergi, a fast-growing Retail Electricity Supplier and proud member of the D&L Group of Companies, has united Discovery World Boracay, Hue Hotels and Resorts of Luana Life & Style Leisure Inc., The Lind Boracay of Scottland Leisure Inc., and Ferra Premier together with Ferra Hotel & Garden Suites of JenGroup Leisure Inc. into a single retail aggregated hotel group collectively known as EVO Boracay. According to EvoEnergi, EVO Boracay represents five hotels with a combined peak demand of approximately 1,360 kilowatts aggregated under the same business district criterion of the Retail Aggregation Program.
This landmark retail aggregation partnership demonstrates how the government’s Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) has rapidly gained traction in less than two years since its implementation. The RAP allows power consumers to pool the electricity requirements of facilities that collectively meet the 500-kilowatt threshold, enabling them to join the Competitive Retail Electricity Market.
“This is a historic milestone for Boracay and the hospitality industry as a whole,” said EvoEnergi President Julian Jacob Lao during the ceremony. “The EVO Boracay Retail Aggregated Group is now empowered to take charge of its energy costs, especially given its seasonal requirements. The savings can be invested back into enhancing guest services, helping make Boracay an even more attractive destination for tourists,” he added.
Discovery Boracay Hotel Manager Erwin Peter Lopez remarked that their decision to enter into the Retail Aggregation Program alongside neighboring hotels provided them with a “cooperative advantage,” allowing them to join forces for a shared purpose of reducing electricity costs and gaining the ability to choose more sustainable energy sources”.
Luana Life & Style Leisure Inc. Managing Director Dexter Ivan Lee likewise expressed his appreciation to EvoEnergi as their Retail Aggregator for introducing the Retail Aggregation Program and pooling the demand of Boracay hotel to get better generation rates. He added that this cooperative program, where hotels join forces to save together, stands as a powerful statement of resilience amid Boracay’s recent tourism downturn.
Mervin Velasco, Group Director for Engineering of The Lind Hotels, also emphasized how the switch to EvoEnergi allows them to better forecast their energy costs and allocate resources more efficiently particularly given the seasonal nature of their operations.
Recognized as the country’s leading retail aggregator in terms of switched and supplied Retail Aggregated Groups, based on the Energy Regulatory Commission’s (ERC) Retail Market Report as of August 2025, EvoEnergi’s partnership with Boracay hotels marks another milestone in expanding its presence and extending retail electricity supply across the Visayas.
The ceremonial switching was attended by hotel executives and EvoEnergi leaders, marking a significant step forward for collaborative, sustainable, and cost-efficient energy management in Boracay’s hospitality sector.
