The partnership reflects the growing confidence of businesses in choosing competitive electricity supply solutions that deliver long-term operational savings while maintaining reliable power service.

Under the Retail Supply Contract, EvoEnergi will supply electricity to Bonchon’s participating facilities, enabling the company to optimize its energy costs without changing its existing Distribution Utility. Customers continue to receive the same reliable electricity and benefit from more competitive generation rates through the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework.

Supporting the Philippine Food Service Industry

The food service industry operates in a highly competitive environment where profitability depends on effectively managing operating expenses. With kitchens, refrigeration systems, air-conditioning units, lighting, and extended operating hours consuming significant amounts of electricity, reducing power costs can substantially improve overall business performance.
Through partnerships like this, EvoEnergi enables restaurant operators like BonChon to improve cost efficiency while maintaining uninterrupted operations and allowing the organization to strategically reallocate savings toward business priorities.

More Businesses Can Now Benefit Under the RCOA Framework

The partnership also highlights the growing opportunities created by the Philippine government’s Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework.
Following regulatory reforms by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), the contestable customer threshold has been reduced from 500 kW to 100 kW. This significant policy development enables a much broader segment of commercial establishments and even residential end-users to participate in the competitive retail electricity market.

As a result, businesses that were previously ineligible—including restaurant chains, retail establishments, educational institutions, office buildings, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, hotels, and other commercial enterprises—can now explore the benefits of choosing their own licensed Retail Electricity Supplier.

For organizations operating multiple branches, the Retail Aggregation Program further provides an opportunity to combine the electricity demand of eligible facilities to meet the minimum requirement, opening access to competitive electricity pricing that was previously unavailable to many businesses.

A Growing Portfolio of Strategic Partnerships

The Bonchon agreement represents another important addition to EvoEnergi’s growing portfolio of commercial and institutional customers across the Philippines.

As more organizations become eligible under the expanded RCOA framework, EvoEnergi remains committed to delivering innovative energy solutions, expert consultation, and reliable retail electricity services that empower businesses to reduce costs and reinvest in growth.

The company continues to support the country’s vision of a more competitive electricity market—one where businesses have greater choice, greater savings, and greater opportunities to thrive.
